Marisa Monteiro Borsboom is a leading figure in legal innovation with over 18 years of experience, focusing on the intersection of law and technology. As CEO of Verae Netherlands and Co-Founder of Inov@legal and AI2L, Marisa has pioneered advancements in legal innovation across the Netherlands and globally.
She is a certified mediator, DPO, and contract manager, and is a member of various professional organisations such as the World Commerce and Contracting Association, the Dutch Arbitration Association, and the Federação dos Advogados de Língua Portuguesa, among others.
She is Vice President of the European Legal Tech Association (ELTA), where she leads initiatives like the ELTA Academy and the Women in Legal Tech group, fostering a progressive, inclusive future for the industry. Known for her work in emergent technologies such as AI and quantum, Marisa is positioned at the forefront of legal tech, advocating for technology as a driver for both business excellence and social good.
She is also the founder and co-organiser of Legal Hackers Oporto and The Hague. In these roles she is working to bring the law, kicking and screaming into the 21st century with the aid of likeminded individuals. She also does this via her education work, having acted a program advisor and served on the Professional Advisory Committees of multiple higher education institutions in The Netherlands.
